History of the Pollinator Power Party
The Pollinator Power Party is an annual event launched by EPRI in 2020 during the COVID shutdown and in conjunction with National Pollinator Week. The party has raised awareness of the essential role pollinators play in ecosystems and in some years reached 2 million people. The party was conceived by EPRI’s Power-in-Pollinators Initiative, which is a collaboration of electric utilities considering pollinator habitats on the millions of acres they manage and translating scientific research into practical conservation strategies (epri.com/pollinators). After surprising success in the launch year, EPRI was proud to team with Pollinator Partnership in 2021 to co-host the party and is now thrilled to transition leadership to them. The party aligns with Pollinator Partnership mission to promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, education, and research. Our two nonprofit organizations will continue to collaborate to host the party and share science-based information about the role pollinators play in our health, culture, and economies.
