Ella grew up in Missouri, where camping in the Ozarks fostered her interest in the natural world. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Centre College in Kentucky. While working on a small organic farm, she became interested in the connections between pollinators and agriculture. She went on to receive a Master’s degree in Entomology from Purdue University. Her research focused on native bee communities and pollination services to fruits and vegetables on Indiana farms. During graduate school, Ella worked extensively with Indiana growers on pollinator-related issues, discovering a passion for outreach along the way. She is excited to apply these experiences to her role as an Indiana Partner Biologist. Ella currently resides in Lafayette, Indiana, and enjoys doing fiber arts and hiking in her free time.
