Codi Hale was born and raised in the Coachella Valley, and has been playing in the soil and talking to plants since she was young. At UC Santa Barbara, she studied Sociology and Global Studies, and was introduced to the world of sustainable agriculture and the promise it holds for our planet's future. After graduating, she traveled to Europe to do work trade on farms through the Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program. Since 2014, she has worked on farms and for farmers in several capacities. Codi believes strongly in the power of community investment, and spent years managing regional and statewide efforts to protect farms, ranches and pollinators through education and habitat restoration, as well as co-managing the largest community garden in San Diego. She is passionate about restoring environmental and ecological balance in our agricultural production systems, and considers herself a "forever student" of Nature. She is thrilled for the opportunity to continue serving farmers and the land as the Western Pollinator Habitat Manager.
