USDA Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)

A voluntary program that encourages agricultural producers and landowners to convert highly erodible and other environmentally sensitive acreage to vegetative cover, such as native grasses, trees, and riparian buffers. By enrolling in CRP, participants receive annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to establish long-term, resource-conserving vegetative covers.

CRP

USDA Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP)

An offshoot of the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), administered by the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in partnership with states, Tribal governments, and non-governmental organizations.

CREP

NRCS Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP)

Protects, restores, and enhances wetlands, grazing lands, and agricultural and conservation values of farms and ranches through conservation easements.

ACEP

NRCS Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)

Receive annual payments and develop a conservation plan one-on-one with NRCS to implement practices that enhance clean air and water, soil health, wildlife habitat, and agricultural operations.

CSP

NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
