Don't Dessert Pollinators Recipe Contest

It’s not just honey! We can thank pollinators for giving us many of the ingredients we use to create scrumptious desserts to satisfy our sweet tooth. Chocolate, derived from the seeds of the cacao tree, is an excellent example of a product dependent on the critical, and often under appreciated, work of pollinators.

• ELIGIBILTY: Simply send in an original dessert recipe that features pollinated ingredients such as chocolate, vanilla, cherries, almond, and strawberries. We're looking for a mouthwatering recipe which makes use of the bounty brought to us by pollinators.

ENTRY FEE: No fee

ENTRY DEADLINE: June 1, 2009

WINNER ANNOUNCED: During National Pollinator Week, June 22 - 29, 2009 on pollinator.org.

PRIZES: The winning submission will receive one night free stay at the luxurious Häagen-Dazs "Sweet Suite" located at the Hotel Triton in fabulous San Francisco!

The winner will also receive a year supply of free Häagen-Dazs ice cream!

JUDGES: Executive Chef, Didier Montarou of Miel “Brasserie Provençal” in the Boston Intercontinental Hotel will serve as head judge. All winning recipes will be featured on pollinator.org.

Contest Rules:

1. The contest is open to everyone.  Employees of the Pollinator Partnership and its contest sponsor are excluded from this contest.
2. The prize is not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.
3. Contest judges decisions are final.
4. By entering a submission to the contest, the winner authorizes the use of contest submission for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner and in any medium which the Pollinator Partnership may deem appropriate.
5. The Pollinator Partnership retains the rights to substitute the prize of equivalent value.
6. One entry per person.
